Why I built it
I built Techstarta to help people looking to break into tech.
It was a technology community and career development platform focused on helping aspiring and early-career professionals build skills, gain practical experience and progress in their careers.
What it was
Techstarta brought together hands-on projects, workshops, learning resources and guidance from vetted industry experts. We combined practical insights and frameworks with opportunities to learn from people working in the industry.
The aim was to support people across software engineering, product management, AI, design and business leadership as they adapted to a changing tech job market.
What I led
I founded and led Techstarta, building both the community and the online platform. My work included:
- Creating learning, mentorship and career development programmes.
- Recruiting and supporting interns.
- Working with engineers, mentors, founders and technology leaders to share knowledge and create opportunities for the community.
- Leading community programmes, partnerships, operations and our digital presence.
Early career opportunities
Over 1,000 people signed up and gained hands-on experience through Techstarta. Some built projects as part of that experience.
For some people, the opportunity came from working on Techstarta itself. I hired some of them to help build the platform, and that work gave them their early career experience. Several interns had their first practical experience working in technology through Techstarta.
A few of the people who gained early career experience through Techstarta:

- Olayinka Adeoye — designer and volunteer.
Several people who participated in or worked with Techstarta went on to professional technology careers across different markets.
