I wanted to have more control on where I write so I started to look for a modern blogging and CMS tool. I didn't want to use Wordpress because I think that would be offering too much. I had an unwritten list of attributes I was looking for:
- Clean interface for writing blog posts
- Minimalistic design
- Extensible
- Uses modern technologies
- Fast
- Open Source
Eventually, I settled for Ghost. It's currently hosted on DigitalOcean.
